The Day of the Ceremony Print E-mail

The church building will be unlocked two hours before the ceremony is scheduled to begin. Florists, photographers, videographers, and others requiring setup time should plan to arrive then. Flowers also may be delivered and set up during the rehearsal once the building is opened on the day of the ceremony.

The bride’s party is invited to gather in Leach Hall on the main level, and the groom’s party is invited to gather in the lower level chapel and conference room, accessible on the south side of the building near the playground. Men are not permitted in Leach Hall while the bride’s party is preparing for the ceremony. You are, of course, welcome to use our restrooms. But because we do not have dressing rooms or other areas well suited for application of makeup or significant hair styling, the bride’s and groom’s parties should arrive dressed for the ceremony. A large mirror and a small privacy screen is available for use in Leach Hall on request.

When the ceremony is ended, we recommend that the wedding party gather in Leach Hall or leave immediately rather than gathering outside or in the foyer because an impromptu receiving line will result if your guests are able to greet you immediately after the ceremony. That greeting is more appropriate for the reception.

The building will close no later than one half hour after the ceremony ends, except when the reception is to be held at the church.

Neither smoking nor alcoholic beverages are allowed inside the church buildings.
