Altar Guild prepares for the sacred worship at each liturgical celebration by coordinating the linens and implements used at the altar. Decoration in the church of banners and flowers that are displayed are also planned by the Altar Guild in order to create an environment appropriate to each occasion. This also includes funerals and weddings.

Meetings are held throughout the year to discuss and plan for liturgical celebrations. Also, at these meetings we have status reports on supplies, condition of linens, vestments and altar implements. This year Altar Guild purchased a complete matching white set of vestments, altar frontal, funeral pall, and communion linens. This was possible because of the generous memorial gifts given by church members to the Altar Guild at Easter, Christmas and other occasions during the year.

There is a memorial chart hanging in the church entry in order to sign up for flowers/memorials at Sunday services. Envelopes can be found at the entrance table or in the church pews. The suggested amount is $40.00.

Altar Guild along with the D.O.K. held their annual luncheon last April. It was well attended and enjoyed by all at Palermo’s Restaurant in Oak Lawn.
