The Left of Center prayer group, over the summer decided to make a name change to end any politically-oriented confusion as to its purpose. Centering Prayer is a prayer technique designed to lead to contemplative prayer, but since our meetings were not exclusively Centering prayer - we also used Lectio Divino, as well as other meditative approaches - we chose the name Left of Center. A new name is in the works, as is the structure of the group. We have taken the last several months off to consider and discuss our group format and focus, wanting to open our spiritual palate to a variety of paths to seeking the Divine Spirit. If you are interested in meditation, silent prayer and other approaches for discovering God's indwelling Spirit, and would like to participate in the development of this group, please contact Michael Trapp.
