Gifts and Fees
Friday, 31 March 2006 07:41

Gifts and fees are to be delivered to the Parish Office or the Officiant prior to the rehearsal. In case of financial hardship, some of the fees may be waived on request at the discretion of the Rector.

Premarital Counseling Inventory. A $35 check made payable to Life Innovations, Inc. is due at the first Premarital Counseling session. A credit card can be used instead of a check if desired. If the test is taken online, the fee is reduced to $29.95.

The Church of the Transfiguration. A gift made directly to the Church of the Transfiguration, in thanksgiving for God’s blessing on those whose Marriage is solemnized, enables the parish to continue its mission and ministry. When neither of the couple or their immediate family is a member, a minimum of $250 for the use of the Church is expected. If the reception is to be held at the Church, the normal rental fee for Leach Hall is waived.

Clergy. In thanksgiving for the Officiant's help in preparing the couple for Marriage, an honorarium may be given to the Officiant. When neither of the couple or their immediate family is a member of the Church of the Transfiguration, an honorarium of $200, made payable to the Officiant, is expected.

Musicians. The Organist receives $200 for time spent planning, practicing, and playing at the rehearsal and service. If additional time is required of the Organist because the service includes vocalists, instrumentalists, or new music, there will be additional fees, which the Organist will set. If desired, the Organist can arrange for additional musicians, whose fees are to be paid directly to them. Note: The Organist's fee applies even if the couple provide their own musician, but does not apply if the ceremony does not include music.

Bulletin. If the Church of the Transfiguration is to provide the Order of Service, a 25¢ per copy fee applies. The Ceremony Planning Worksheet and Participants in the Ceremony form are due to the Officiant two weeks before the ceremony.

Sexton. The Sexton (custodian) on duty receives a $50 gratuity for work done before and after the service. Please obtain the sexton's name from the Parish Secretary and make a check payable directly to the sexton.

Altar Guild. The Altar Guild receives $50 for candles, linens, etc., to be used at the Altar. This check should be made payable to the Church of the Transfiguration Altar Guild.
