(From January 2005) I have been a member of Transfiguration for more than 13 years. I have served as the Junior Warden for the past two years and spent two years prior on the Vestry. I have been on the Day Care Board and served as Vice President and also a member of the Day Care Search Committee that hired the current Director, Suzanne Newman. I have been President of ECW, chairperson of the Yard Sale, chairperson of the Decorating Committee (foyer and church) and headed up the renovation of the Rectory. I have also, taught Senior High Sunday School. I have been married to Tom for 23 years. My children, Matt 17 and Meghan 15, are also members of Transfiguration and have been active participants in Youth Group activities and Habitat for Humanity. We live in Hinsdale, where I am an active member of the community and high school PTO. I earned both my undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. My degrees are in Food Science with a concentration in lipid metabolism and nutrition. I am currently a member of the Adjunct Faculty at Kendall College. I teach Human Nutrition. I am currently studying conversational Spanish and hope to be fluent in the language. My vision for Transfiguration is for growth, not only in terms of numbers of members, but growth within our own church community making sure we are meeting the needs of our congregation. Also, for our church to have a greater impact on outreach in the surrounding community, the metropolitan area and globally.
