(From January 2007) As a candidate for the Day Care School Board, I bring with me experiences from many avenues of life from raising a family, to having worked with people as art director and teacher in different jobs, and as part of the Palos/Orland Park communities in volunteer positions through church, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts and the local schools. I feel it is important to keep a safe and caring place for children to grow, play and learn. I'd like to be able to see that the Day Care at Transfiguration can continue to offer its services to families and hopefully show growth in attendance and profit. I earned a Masters of Science Degree in education from Chicago State University and have retired as art teacher in 2004 from Community High School District 230 after fourteen years of teaching. I continue to volunteer in the school community and church community with my creative talents. I've been a member of Transfiguration Church now for seventeen years and was Treasurer for Altar Guild for six years.
