(From January 2009) This “cradle” Episcopalian transferred to Transfiguration immediately upon moving to Palos Park in 1980.

I’m thrilled to have three generations in our parish and moved to tears when I see my three granddaughters serving as acolytes. Their grandfather missed so much not knowing his four grandchildren.

Having been widowed at the age of 37, I was forced to take a job that took me away from my children at times but allowed me the necessary income to raise them in a good environment. Life was non-stop and demanding as a single parent.

I have previously served on the Vestry, Day Care Board, and Altar Guild. After 20 years as VP/Advertising Representative of a publishing company I am now savoring my retirement years. I try to attend as many school events as possible for Ryan, Rachel, Britta, and Jenna.

In addition to church activities, biking, swimming, tennis, and scuba diving, I have been on the Shedd Aquarium’s dive team for years. I currently dive and lecture in the Caribbean Reef Tank. My diving and love of the ocean has taken me all over the world in search of the diverse variety of sea life. I am now a strong advocate for the preservation of the waters of the world.

Many years have passed since serving on the Vestry and Day Care Board and our world is changing. I hope in the future to be able to make correct assessments for the future of Transfiguration and the Day Care Center.
