Information:
(From January 2008) Jeanne and I will have been married 26 years (Feb 14th), and have (4) children. Charles (23) a Senior at Pratt Institute in NYC, Victoria (20) Sophomore at Marymount Manhattan in NYC, Sean (15) who is a Freshman at Carl Sandburg HS and Olivia (7) who is in First Grade at the Park School. We have lived in Alabama, Georgia, London - England, Hong Kong - SAR, and Illinois in the last 26 years. I am currently employed with Open Text Corporation as the SVP, Global Human Resources. Open Text globally develops, markets and sells ECM (Enterprise Content Management) software solutions. The company's solutions help manage business critical content, dynamic content revisions, approvals to archiving, and compliance with regulatory requirements. The solutions provide user access, view, and manage information related to a transaction or business process without switching from one application to another. Open Text has offices across the globe, but has its U.S. headquarters in Lincolnshire, IL. We have been actively attended Transfiguration since our move to the Orland Park area in 2003. During which time, we have been involved in many church programs. Olivia attended the pre-school program in 2003 and 2004. During this last year, Jeanne has been involved as a Sunday School Superintendant. Both Jeanne and I have sung in the choir for the last year. Jeanne was born into the Episcopal Church, and I have been a member of the Episcopal Church for over 25 years and have held various volunteer and leadership roles within each of the parishes that we attended. Jeanne was on the rector search committee, and I was on the search committee for a choir director/organist at St Michael and All Angels in Stone Mountain, GA. We have sung in various choirs over the years and have been very dedicated in our attendance both locally and abroad. I briefly attended Asbury Theological Seminary after graduating from Greenville College. I have a B.S. degree in Music/Philosophy/Religion and Jeanne has a B.S. from Auburn University in Special Education. I attended the Ivey Business School in Hong Kong and worked on my EMBA during 2001-2. I taught an adult Sunday School class when we were living in North Alabama, and have held numerous leadership positions over the years within many of the church's that we have attended. Transfiguration's strengths and challenges are closely related. Transfiguration has a strong core of dedicated families that support the church with their finances and time. There are never enough "newcomers" to keep the pipeline of support growing. We are maintaining a strong base, but we will need to grow the local outreach to grow. The acquisition of new members will be the key to whether we as a congregation will grow, sustain or decline. We have great facilities, great leadership and a strong support staff, but we need more to do more. I hope to be part of a dynamic growing community of believers that expand our outreach past the walls of the church. Vibrant churches require on-going commitment to relevant programs, constant search for new opportunities and membership. Defining and expanding our music program will be one key in attracting and retaining new membership.
