(From January 2010) When I visited Transfiguration in 1992 with my husband, Erwin, we felt very comfortable with the surroundings and the people we met. Soon after that I officially transferred from St. Elizabeth’s, my childhood church in Chicago. In 1994 we adopted our sons Nick, Alex, and Mike from Kazakhstan. Our new family was graciously accepted and nurtured by our church friends and teachers, and we are thankful for the strong friendships our family has formed throughout the years.

As working parents with young children, we experienced firsthand the difficulties of finding a reliable, caring, quality day care setting for our children. Unfortunately, distance was an issue with Transfiguration’s Day Care Center, so we evaluated alternatives. As a result of that process, I gained knowledge and empathy for parents, children and day care staff members who must work as a team to succeed in becoming the best.

My business experience ranges from a Fortune 500 company, to small business owner and Vice-Chairwoman of a global non-profit organization dedicated to educating children and young adults about the importance of liver wellness and healthy decision-making. I believe that my personal and business experience, along with an MBA in financial management from Loyola University Chicago, will enable me to become a positive contributor to Transfiguration’s Day Care Board and to assist in supporting and expanding its excellent reputation going forward.
