(From January 2006) I have been a member of Transfiguration for about eight years and have been quite active in the church for about the last five years. Currently I serve on the Children and Youth Ministry Committee and on the Stewardship Committee. Previously I was on the church's daycare board and taught Sunday school. I was raised in the Episcopal church, attending Grace Episcopal Church in Muncie, Ind. My husband, Tim, and I have two boys who are regular fixtures at Transfiguration - Ethan (7) and Welby (4). They were baptized here. We moved to Palos Heights from Northwest Indiana shortly before Ethan was born in 1998. Three years ago we moved to our current home in Palos Pines. I majored in journalism at Northwestern and for 16 years I have worked at The Times, a newspaper in Northwest Indiana. In my spare time I like to read, go antiquing, play with the kids and occasionally tackle cross-stitch projects. I would like Transfiguration to continue its outreach efforts, both for the congregation and the community. One of the reasons I love Transfiguration is its commitment to helping others and the atmosphere of friendship and inclusion.
